I am an accomplished picture researcher, sourcing photographs and illustrations for publication in books, magazines and online use, as well as for a wide and varied range of other purposes, including museum exhibitions, advertising and interior design projects. With many years’ experience within the publishing industry, there are few subjects on which I have not researched images, and I always relish a new challenge!

I source images from picture agencies, corporate and private collections, museums and art galleries worldwide. I have worked for numerous book publishers, both in the UK and the USA, in many subject areas, from art, architecture, fashion, design, film and history to academic studies, educational textbooks and reference works, clearing image rights and agreeing fees for use. I am also experienced in dealing with the licensing of images of branded products, working closely with press departments and PR agencies to secure permissions for use.

I work from a brief, a picture list or from a complete manuscript to provide a range of suitable images from which selections can be made. I work closely with authors, editors, picture managers and website designers to gather the most relevant and visually appealing images to accompany the text. Once final picture selections have been agreed upon, I will negotiate fees, clear the required permissions, obtain high-resolution files, and complete all of the necessary paperwork, including compiling picture credits.
